April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her journey in music at the age of 7 in which she began guitar and piano lessons. The first song she wrote was called Different. She wrote it when she was 12 years old. At 14 old, she dedicated the majority of her time making song concepts and perfecting the music. Soon, April began to take trips across NY and LA together with her father so that they could both write songs. April also added additional themes to the tune "Take My Hand" for a few of her the friends she had who struggled with issues such as peer pressurization disabilities, and even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart is also gaining a growing following as a lifestyle influencer as well as a spokesperson for the popular brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. She has a disability that is a component of her identity, but it's not all of the of the picture. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not cover up her disability, but it does not concentrate solely on it. It's a message. The message? That we are all multifaceted, and that our identity and physical selves are not all that appear. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability is what defines my character. My goal is not to influence disability because I have so much more to offer." The fact that she is a disability influencer doesn't impact my everyday life. All is well and I've learned how to adapt. It's also a part of my life, and I think that it is something to be talked about. Self-acceptance is a long marathon however Lockhart is a true inspiration for this aspect. She admits that she has gone through phases of insecurity with her body and feeling uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. and she shares her pictures to social networks. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not an end goal. But I think that's for everyone, whatever the source of their anxiety. I think that having people with you who are aware of you and know your heart is really important as they'll be the ones that remind you of what are you concerned about?
