Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at an Olympic contest. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics coach who later became her coach later on, discovered her at age six. She first competed in the national junior championships in 1969 placing 13th and she was the winner in 1970. She took home three golds at her first competition, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972 that was held by the communist bloc nations. Between 1973 and 1974, she was the junior champion in all-round competitions. She won four gold and one silver medals in her first international competition for seniors, held in 1975. This was her first time she competed as an older senior. The first female to perform a reverse double salo with the parallel bar that was uneven when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens, she began performing in travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol was a part of the entertainment business in her teens. She started her career as a figure skater, performing alongside her sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating that included theatrical performances.
